AGEING AND VISION: Vitamin E can help you see
| One consequence of growing old can be lens opacity. You just can't see so clearly any more.
But one study has discovered that this need not be an inevitable result of ageing, and it can be avoided, or its progress slowed, by regular supplementation of vitamin E.
Researchers made the discovery after studying the health progress of 408 women, aged between 52 and 74 years, who are participating in the Nurses' Health Study. They found a direct correlation between eye opacity and long-term use of vitamin E and higher riboflavin or thiamin intake. |
