| Last week, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pension held two historic hearings on Integrative Medicine, while the Institute of Medicine simultaneously held its Summit on Integrative Medicine and the Health of the Public in Washington, DC. Integrative Medicine has never received such sustained and favorable focus in our nation's capital. And, this took place just as the new Obama administration and Congress begin to look at health care reform.
On Thursday, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Dean Ornish, and Dr. Andrew Weil, testified before the Senate Committee. The topic was "Integrative Care: A Pathway to a Healthier Nation". To watch a streaming video of this hearing, and to read PDFs of the each panelist's testimony click here.
This was possibly the most cogent public presentation on Integrative Medicine delivered to date. The webcast is a must see for anyone interested in Integrative Medicine, wellness promotion, or health/wellness coaching. The full transcripts of the hearing should be available on the site in the first two weeks of March.
