Now' take one more deep breath. Fill your stomach with air first, and then your chest. Hold your breath, clenching your fists and tightening your body as tight as you can. Exhale and relax completely.

Now, stare at the illustration for a little while. Remember to breathe and allow your eyes to be like a camera lens, taking in what you see with no thoughts or judgments.

Now, take a deep breath and concentrate on one color in the illustration at a time. Start with the color with the lowest number.

In this case it is the third chakra, the color is yellow and it is located two fingers above your navel. It governs the stomach, liver, gallbladder, spleen and nervous system.

Stare at the yellow color in the illustration and breathe deeply into the third chakra by concentrating your attention two fingers above the navel as you inhale. As you breathe in imagine it filling with yellow. Hold your breath. Then exhale, actually making the sound of the color yellow, which is ME or the musical note E as you exhale. Put your hand on the "chakra" and see if you can make the chakra actually vibrate as you "sing" to it.

Now go on to the next chakra, the fourth chakra. The color is green and it is located at the center of your chest between your breasts. It governs the chest, heart, blood and circulatory system.

Stare at the green color in the illustration and breathe deeply into the fourth chakra by concentrating your attention at the center of your chest between your breasts as you inhale. As you breathe in, imagine it filling with green. Hold your breath. Then exhale, actually making the sound of the color green, which is FA or the musical note F as you exhale. Put your hand on the "chakra" and see if you can make the chakra actually vibrate as you "sing" to it.

Now go on to the fifth chakra, the color is blue and it is located at the throat. It governs the throat, thyroid, lungs, vocal and bronchial apparatus.

Hug A Tree - The Game

Listen to the Game

When you are feeling unsettled, drained or just plain nervous, go outside and hug a tree. When you hug a tree, it can share its nurturing, vibrant life energy with you. If you don't have a real tree nearby, picture yourself hugging a tree in your mind's eye.

Put your arms around the trunk, your face against the bark, your weight against the tree and hug it. Do this for at least thirty seconds at a time. I prefer hugging a pine or evergreen. Try choosing a tree that feels best to you.

As you embrace it, notice how the tree looks close up, how it smells and how it feels against your skin.

Now, close your eyes and visualize rays of sunlight dancing on you and on its branches. Visualize the energy of the sun and the tree warming, nurturing, cleansing and purifying your entire being. When you feel warmed, cleansed and energized, stop hugging the tree. Then, thank the tree and Mother Earth.

When you have finished, pick a fresh needle or leaf and bite it or tear it. See how it tastes if you like. Then notice the fragrance. Try rubbing the fragrance on your fingers and smelling it when you feel stressed.

This technique is particularly helpful if you are feeling drained or putting out more energy than you are receiving. Try hugging a tree three or four times a day.
