Definition Of Homeopathic



ARIZONA

The statute states: " 'Homeopathy' means a system of medicine employing substances of animal, vegetable or mineral origin which are given in microdosage and prepared according to homeopathic pharmacology, in accordance with the principle that a substance which produces symptoms in a healthy person can cure those symptoms in an ill person. The practice of homeopathy includes acupuncture, neuromuscular integration, orthomolecular therapy, nutrition, chelation therapy, pharmaceutical medicine and minor surgery."

NEVADA

The statute states: " 'Homeopathic medicine' or 'homeopathy' means a system of medicine employing substances of animal, vegetable, chemical or mineral origin, including nosodes and sarcodes, which are:

1. Given in micro-dosage, except that sarcodes may be given in macro-dosage;

2. Prepared according to homeopathic pharmacology by which the formulation of homeopathic preparations is accomplished by the methods of Hahnemannian dilution and succussion, magnetically energized geometric patterns, applicable in potencies above 30X as defined in the official Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, or Korsakoffian; and

3. Prescribed by homeopathic physicians according to the medicines and dosages in the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, in accordance with the principle that a substance which produces symptoms in a healthy person can eliminate those symptoms in an ill person, resulting in the elimination and prevention of illness utilizing classical methodology and noninvasive electrodiagnosis.

WASHINGTON

The statute states: " 'Homeopathy' means a system of medicine based on the use of infinitesimal doses of medicines capable of producing symptoms similar to those of the disease treated, as listed in the homeopathic pharmacopeia of the United States."

HOMEOPATHIC REQUIREMENTS

ARIZONA

*Applicant must be a person of good moral character and must submit affidavits from three physicians licensed to practice medicine attesting to the applicant's character;

*Must have a doctor of medicine degree from an approved college or university or holds an unsuspended or unrevoked license to practice medicine issued by another state;

*Applicant's professional record may not indicate:

-That applicant's license to practice medicine has been refused, revoked or suspended by any other state;

-That the applicant has not committed any act or engaged in any conduct which would constitute grounds for disciplinary action against a licensee;

*Must submit a diploma or certificate conferring the degree of doctor of medicine in homeopathy issued by a homeopathic college or other educational institution approved by the board;

*Must submit proof that applicant served an approved internship or preceptorship;

*Pass examination and submit to a personal interview;

*File application and pay fees.

NEVADA

*Applicant must be a citizen of the U.S. or is lawfully entitled to remain and work in the U.S.

*Must be of good moral character;

*Must have received a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited school which he attended during the two years immediately preceding the granting of the degree;

*Must be licensed to practice allopathic or osteopathic medicine in any state or country;

*Must have completed one year of postgraduate training in allopathic or osteopathic medicine;

*Applicant completed six months of postgraduate training in homeopathy;

*Must pass examination required by the board.
