Qigong in Hospitals
In China there are no hospitals that do not include acupuncture, massage, herbal medicines and Qigong. Even those hospitals that have embraced Western medical modalities are fully integrated with Chinese traditional healing and large Qigong programs.

Talk about cost effective. One doctor can meet with hundreds of patients at time. In the U.S. when a doctor meets with a patient for 7 - 10 minutes it costs the health care system $50 to $100. In China when a doctor meets with 200 people it costs the system far less than $100, 50 cents per person. In the US this cost would be about $5 per person for a one hour practice session.

Qigong is used as a part of the practice of massage. The patient is reminded to relax the breath and enter a state of meditation. The doctor or healer uses the Qi in addition to the massage to multiply the healing effect.

One form of Qigong actually includes the emission of healing forces from the doctor to the patient. The qigong doctor or healer enters a deep Qigong state, the patient also begins the practice of Qigong. This method is helpful when the patient is very weak. As improvement occurs the individual begins to increase their own personal Qigong practice.
