Dr. Roger Jahnke has been in the practice of traditional Chinese
medicine for over twenty years. One of the most impressive lessons from his
Chinese teachers was that the "Superior Physician" teaches people to
sustain their health and vitality. While acupuncture, herbal medicine and
manual healing (massage and joint manipulation) are his clinical tools,
Roger has focused since 1972 on the methods of personal empowerment called
Qigong and Taiji (Tai Chi).

He is the administrative and clinical director of Health Action, an
integrated medicine clinic in Santa Barbara. He and his colleagues have
developed tools and methodologies for integrating clinical medicine with
self-healing and empowerment methods. Numerous hospitals, networks and
third parties have contracted Dr. Jahnke to assist in their re-design of
health care delivery. Typically, this includes the integration of natural
healing and health promotion with conventional medicine in
"multi-disciplinary health resource centers".

Roger has traveled to China five times over the years to explore
Qigong in hospitals, institutes, in the parks, in temples and at sacred
sites. His book, The Healer Within, translates Qigong into terms that are
easily embraced by a wide audience. It is recommended by physicians and
health educators, used in support groups and is the handbook for a
nationwide network of citizen initiated practice sessions. He is the author
of this destination on the World Wide Web as well as the Qigong site at
HealthWorld Online.
Dr. Jahnke lives in Santa Barbara with his favorite professional
associate and wife, Rebecca (author of the Circle of Life), and their
family. He practices Qigong daily on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific,
where on occasion, he meets with and instructs aspiring Qigong students. |
